 World cup History

The 2015 edition will be the 11th of the tournament and will be jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia. The two countries combined in 1992 to jointly host the tournament.


The first tournament took place in England in 1975 which was won by the West Indies. The most recent event was held in 2011 which was won by India

The maestro played in a record six World Cups, with his first appearance in 1992. The retired right-hand batting icon, who holds the record for most runs and most centuries in World Cup history, finished on the winning side in 2011.
